Jazeera Airways has launched new flights to Sohag, in Egypt, marking the airline’s sixth destination in the country and further strengthening air connectivity between Kuwait and Egypt.
The new route, operating via Qaisumah Airport (AQI) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, comes in response to high demand from the large Egyptian expatriate community in Kuwait, facilitating family reunions, business travel, and personal commitments.
With the addition of Sohag, Jazeera Airways now offers flights from Kuwait to six Egyptian cities: Alexandria, Cairo, Sphinx, Assiut, Luxor, and Sohag, giving travelers greater flexibility and options. Since resuming operations through Qaisumah Airport, the airline has transported over 8,500 passengers, ensuring continued connectivity during a period when Kuwait International Airport remains temporarily closed.
Passengers departing for Sohag will complete check-in at Jazeera Airways’ dedicated facility at the Kuwait International Fairgrounds in Mishref (Hall 8) before being transferred by bus to Qaisumah Airport for their onward journey.
“Egypt remains one of our strongest and most important markets. The launch of Sohag further expands our ability to connect people at a time when travel carries deeper meaning. Whether it is reuniting with family, returning to work, or continuing essential journeys, we remain focused on maintaining reliable connectivity under challenging circumstances.”
The expansion of Egypt routes is part of Jazeera Airways’ broader strategy to maintain connections for Kuwait, with operations currently covering nearly 20 destinations. Bookings for the new Sohag route are available via the airline’s website, jazeeraairways.com, and the Jazeera App, with plans to introduce additional frequencies and destinations over time.
