The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has unveiled the launch of the RSX service by Marsa Ocean Shipping at Jeddah Islamic Port, offering a capacity of up to 372 TEUs.
This new service will connect Jeddah with key regional ports in Aden, Hodeidah, and Djibouti, boosting trade and logistics in the region. Furthermore, this move is part of Mawani’s efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of the Kingdom’s ports.
This expansion aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to enhance the Kingdom’s logistical infrastructure. By enhancing operational efficiency at key ports, the initiative aims to improve Saudi Arabia’s ranking in global performance indicators, thereby positioning the Kingdom as a leading hub for regional and international trade.
As a key gateway, Jeddah Islamic Port leverages its 62 multipurpose berths and specialized terminals to support a total capacity of 130 million tons.
This capacity not only underscores the port’s pivotal role in Saudi Arabia’s trade operations but also reinforces the Kingdom’s strategic position as a global logistics hub connecting three continents.
According to the statement, this addition supports the smooth flow of global trade, improving supply chain efficiency and contributing to the seamless movement of goods across key international routes.
Recently, Mawani announced the addition of five new maritime shipping services during the recent period, following the onset of tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. The new services include GULF SHUTTLE, REDEX, JADE, AE19, and SE4.
They operate across various maritime routes, linking the Kingdom’s ports to a wide range of regional and international destinations. This expansion plays a key role in boosting maritime connectivity and improving logistics performance.
