Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has signed a lease agreement with Sultan Logistics for the development of a $66.5 million (SAR250 million) logistics park at Jeddah Islamic Port in Al Khumrah.

The project will span 200,000 square meters and is designed to deliver advanced logistics facilities supporting storage and re-export operations, reinforcing Jeddah’s role as a strategic trade gateway on the Red Sea.

The development is expected to enhance operational efficiency, streamline cargo handling, and strengthen supply chain integration within the Kingdom’s maritime sector.

According to Mawani, the initiative aligns with its strategic objectives under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to establish integrated logistics parks within and beyond Saudi ports.

The overarching goal is to position Saudi Arabia as a leading global logistics hub, provide high-value logistics services, stimulate economic diversification, and support the objectives of Vision 2030.

Mawani noted that the new park will empower private sector participation and expand its contribution to national economic growth. By enhancing trade flow efficiency and boosting port competitiveness, the project is expected to strengthen Jeddah Islamic Port’s standing as a critical maritime hub.

The agreement follows a similar partnership signed in April between Mawani and Sultan Logistics to develop a $53.3 million (SAR200 million) logistics park at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.

The Dammam facility will include 35,000 square meters of warehousing, administrative offices, and a dedicated yard for dry and refrigerated containers, along with a re-export zone to support high operational standards.

Together, the projects underscore Mawani’s continued efforts to expand logistics capacity, attract private investment, and enhance Saudi Arabia’s global trade connectivity.
