Bahrain Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture has entered into a strategic partnership with the Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), the real estate arm of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, aimed at developing the Manama Central Market site.
The partnership was formalized by Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat and Chairman of Edamah.
Under the MoU, a detailed study will be carried out to maximize the site’s investment and commercial potential, leveraging its strategic location in the center of Manama.
This partnership also aligns with the ministry’s goal to enhance the management of its real estate assets and improve financial returns while contributing to sustainable urban development and economic growth.
Edamah’s capabilities in development and investment are key to transforming the site and creating promising opportunities that fall in line with Bahrain’s strategic development plans.
Founded in 2006 to oversee and expand a diverse real estate portfolio in Bahrain, Edamah has now emerged as one of the Kingdom’s leading property developers. The company remains committed to its founding principles of quality, efficiency and sustainability, and in line with the highest standards of transparency and corporate governance.
Edamah aims to redefine the Kingdom’s diverse and dynamic property sector. The company’s portfolio also covers projects in the leisure and entertainment and industrial sectors.
Recently, Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, met with Khaled Abdulrahman Al Majed, CEO of Edamah, highlighting the role of private sector in advancing the Tourism Strategy (2022–2026). The minister praised Edamah’s contributions to tourism development.
