The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has signed a naming rights sponsorship agreement for Khalifa Sports City with Bahrain’s General Sports Authority (GSA), as part of efforts to support and develop sports infrastructure in the Kingdom.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the GSA by Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the authority, while Osman Ahmed, Group Chief Executive of NBB, signed on behalf of the bank.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the GSA, Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC, witnessed the ceremony.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad emphasized that the agreement represents an advanced model of integration between the sports sector and private sector institutions. His Highness noted that the naming rights sponsorship of Khalifa Sports City will contribute to the sustainability and development of sports facilities in line with international standards.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad stated that the partnership with NBB reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting the development of Bahraini sports and enhancing sports facilities to serve as a platform for local and international events, in line with the Kingdom’s progress in this domain.
His Highness noted that initiatives like the Khalifa Sports City enhance the management efficiency of sports facilities and open broader opportunities for sports investment. His Highness affirmed the authority’s commitment to strengthening partnerships that support the sector’s development goals.
The agreement forms part of a series of initiatives aimed at developing Khalifa Sports City and reinforcing its role as a key venue for hosting sports activities and events, in support of athletes and the Kingdom’s sports sector.
