The Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) has conducted meetings with GLP and Hidden Hill Capital in China to discuss investment opportunities and potential areas of cooperation as part of its ongoing roadshow in the country.

HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Faisal Al-Thani, Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Free Zones Authority, met with Ming Z. Mei, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of GLP, to explore opportunities across sectors including logistics, digital infrastructure, renewable energy, and investment.

The discussions also covered opportunities to support industrial development, innovation, and economic activity through potential future partnerships.

QFZ stated that the meeting formed part of its efforts to engage with international companies and identify opportunities that align with the development priorities of Qatar’s free zones.

In a separate meeting, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Faisal Al-Thani met with representatives of Hidden Hill Capital, the private equity arm of GLP.

Discussions focused on potential investment opportunities across the company’s portfolio and possible areas for future cooperation.

According to QFZ, the meetings are part of a wider program of engagements taking place during its roadshow in China.

The authority is meeting with existing investors as well as prospective companies to present investment opportunities available through Qatar’s free zones and to strengthen business relationships with organizations operating in key economic sectors.

The roadshow is intended to support economic cooperation between Qatar and China by facilitating direct discussions with companies interested in expanding their regional or international operations.

China remains an important economic partner for Qatar, with cooperation spanning sectors such as logistics, advanced manufacturing, technology, and life sciences.

QFZ continues engagement with Chinese companies in these sectors to attract investment and support business growth in Qatar’s free zones.

The authority remains focused on promoting Qatar as a destination for international investment by highlighting the infrastructure, business environment, and market access opportunities available to companies seeking to establish or expand their presence in the region.
