Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) has announced the launch of new travel-related features on its QIC App to enhance digital services for travelers to and from Qatar.

The update introduces the option for customers to convert their loyalty Coins into Avios, the loyalty currency of Qatar Airways Privilege Club.

The converted points can be used across various travel services, including flight bookings, cabin upgrades, and purchases at Qatar Duty Free, with access to Qatar Airways’ global network covering more than 150 destinations.

In addition, QIC App users can use their Coins to partially pay for outbound travel insurance premiums. The feature allows customers to combine loyalty rewards with other digital payment methods, offering greater flexibility in managing travel insurance purchases.

The company has also introduced a Hotels feature within the QIC App, designed to provide users with access to accommodation options and deals through a single platform.

The service has been developed in partnership with hospitality providers and offers a range of options across different price segments.

Further expanding its digital travel services, QIC has launched a Calendar feature that allows users to view events taking place in Qatar throughout the year. The feature enables residents and visitors to plan activities by browsing and selecting events through the application.

To support international visitors, QIC has partnered with Ooredoo to provide complimentary eSIMs for customers purchasing Mandatory Visitors’ Health Insurance through QIC’s digital platforms. The eSIM activation link is provided upon purchase, allowing users to set up connectivity prior to arrival in Qatar.
