QAPCO receives JV operational excellence award 2021 from TotalEnergies

TotalEnergies, a French multinational integrated energy and petroleum company, has selected Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) as the recipient of its joint venture (JV) operational excellence award for 2021 in the Middle East, Asia and Africa regions.

This award is nominated by TotalEnergies Management Committee in Refining and Petrochemicals and recognizes the Company’s joint ventures that have a high performance in Operational Excellence.

TotalEnergies’ Senior Vice President – Refining and Petrochemicals, Mr. Francois Good presented the award to QAPCO Managing Director and CEO Dr. Mohammed Yousef Al Mulla in the presence of senior officials from both companies.

QAPCO is one of the world’s largest producers of low-density polyethylene (LDPE), derived from oil and natural gas. TotalEnergies has a 20 percent stake in the company, which holds an ethylene plant cracker with a production capacity of 840-kilo tons per annum (ktpa), three LDPE plants with a total combined production capacity of over 780 ktpa and a Sulfur plant with a production capacity of 70 ktpa.

QAPCO has adopted a safety management process that puts people and equipment safety at the forefront of every decision and involves stringent safety processes, high standards, strict compliance, comprehensive training, capability building, and vigilant monitoring.
