Qatar explores ways to boost bilateral relations with Moldova

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani and Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Ms. Natalia Gavrilita have discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, both sides also explored the ways to develop and strengthen various fields, especially economic, agricultural, and food security.

Furthermore, they discussed the latest regional and international situations of mutual interests. A number of ministers attended the session.

After the session, Mr. Al Thani and Ms. Gavrilita witnessed the signing of an agreement on technical, scientific, and economic cooperation in the field of agriculture, and an agreement on the abolition of entry visas for holders of ordinary passports between the two countries.

Furthermore, Ms. Gavrilita met with a delegation from Qatar Chamber led by its Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani.

The meeting, which was held at the Sheraton Hotel, was also attended by QC second Vice-Chairman Mr. Rashed bin Hamad Al Athba and Mr. Abdul-Rahman bin Abdul-Jalil Al Abdul-Ghani, a member of the Board of Directors.

As per the statement, “The meeting touched on reviewing bilateral relations in commercial and economic fields and means to enhance them, as well as the investment opportunities and the role it can be played by the private sector to develop trade between both sides.”

During the meeting, the Moldovan PM invited Qatari businessmen to visit her country and learn about the opportunities available to them in many sectors there, especially in agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, and medical tourism.
