Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has upgraded its Wages Protection System (WPS) Portal to simplify account opening, enabling corporate workers to verify, activate, and complete their accounts directly through the QIB Lite App.
The enhanced WPS Portal allows employers to submit worker details and initiate account opening requests digitally by entering Qatar ID and mobile numbers and uploading the necessary identification documents. This digital process reduces paperwork, minimizes manual intervention, and accelerates workforce onboarding.
Once the account opening request is initiated, workers receive an SMS prompting them to download the QIB Lite app, where they can complete identity verification, confirm personal details, and activate their accounts. This ensures a smooth end-to-end onboarding process and immediate access to account information.
By separating and digitizing the employer and worker journeys within a single integrated ecosystem, QIB is helping businesses streamline workforce management, improve operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with Qatar’s WPS requirements.
