The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), represented by the Business Excellence Center, has won the Government Institutional Leadership Award for supporting and enabling business franchising during the Egyptian-Saudi International Business Franchise Exhibition in Cairo.
The award recognizes the Chamber’s efforts in developing the franchising system in the Sultanate of Oman, enhancing the competitiveness of national brands, and supporting their expansion in local and regional markets.
The Chamber has implemented programs and partnerships to strengthen franchise development and improve market access for Omani businesses.
The Chamber said that its initiatives focus on building an integrated framework to support franchising, including training, advisory services, and facilitation of partnerships between Omani brands and international counterparts. These efforts enhance the readiness of local companies to operate within structured franchise models.
The participation of Omani brands at the exhibition also resulted in the signing of two memoranda of understanding between Omani companies and Egyptian counterparts.

The agreements cover cooperation in the fields of beekeeping, honey production, and silverware manufacturing. The agreements are part of efforts to expand commercial cooperation and support private sector engagement in new markets.
The Chamber noted that its participation in the exhibition aligns with its broader strategy to support the growth of the franchise sector, increase the regional presence of Omani brands, and facilitate economic partnerships that open new opportunities for the private sector.
It added that these efforts are consistent with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, particularly in relation to economic diversification and enhancing the role of the private sector in driving growth.
