The Saudi Accreditation Center (SAC) has secured new international recognitions, reinforcing its leadership in the fields of accreditation and quality assurance.
The latest achievement includes recognition from the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) for accrediting bodies that certify products, processes, and services under the ISO/IEC 17065 standard.
In addition, Saudi Accreditation Center was recognized for accrediting quality management systems and information security management systems in accordance with ISO 27001.
Saudi Accreditation Center also received recognition from the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) in the field of proficiency testing, in line with ISO/IEC 17043. This brings its internationally recognized fields under ILAC to five. These developments bring the number of SAC’s internationally recognized accreditation fields to eight under the IAF.
Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Accreditation Center, Dr. Adel Alkeaid, stated that these recognitions represent a significant national milestone in enhancing and supporting the Kingdom’s quality infrastructure. He noted that they contribute to building confidence among producers, consumers, and stakeholders, while also supporting the national economy and facilitating international trade through mutual recognition of accreditation and conformity certificates.
The Saudi Accreditation Center is the Kingdom’s sole authority empowered to grant accreditation to conformity assessment bodies across multiple sectors. SAC plays a pivotal role in the national quality infrastructure, promoting higher standards in service delivery, improving the quality and safety of products and services, protecting consumer health and environmental safety, and driving economic growth and prosperity.
These international recognitions further affirm SAC’s commitment to aligning with global best practices and enhancing Saudi Arabia’s competitiveness on the world stage.
