The Saudi Coffee Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, has formally assumed control of the Saudi Coffee Development Center in Al-Dayr Governorate, located in the Jazan Region.

The handover from Saudi Aramco, carried out in coordination with the Jazan Region Development Strategic Office, strengthens the Kingdom’s coffee sector infrastructure.

The development reflects a coordinated institutional effort to consolidate and enhance the operational framework of Saudi Arabia’s coffee industry.

The development center is expected to serve as a critical hub for advancing agronomic practices, improving post-harvest processing, and facilitating knowledge transfer to local farmers, particularly in the southern regions where coffee cultivation has deep-rooted historical significance.

This transition enables the Saudi Coffee Company to centralize oversight and execution of sector-specific initiatives, thereby improving operational efficiency and accelerating the implementation of targeted development programs.

It also reinforces ongoing efforts to empower local communities through capacity building, income diversification, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Operating as the Kingdom’s dedicated platform for coffee sector advancement, the Saudi Coffee Company is pursuing a comprehensive, value chain-driven strategy encompassing cultivation, processing, logistics, and global market positioning.

The company continues to deploy strategic investments aimed at scaling production, enhancing product quality, and aligning with international specialty coffee standards.

These initiatives are closely aligned with Saudi Arabia’s broader economic diversification agenda, with the Public Investment Fund playing a central role in mobilizing capital and institutional support.

The focus on developing a high-value agricultural segment underscores the Kingdom’s intent to position coffee as both a commercially viable export and a symbol of national heritage.

The Jazan Region remains integral to Saudi Arabia’s ambition of establishing a globally competitive specialty coffee industry.

Leveraging its favorable agroclimatic conditions, the region is being developed into a hub for premium coffee production through targeted infrastructure investments and ecosystem support.
