The Center of Digital Entrepreneurship (CODE), under the Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, has concluded the ‘HealthTech Challenge’, following an intensive and specialized training journey.
The challenge spanned three months, covering registration, business model development, the training camp, and technical support, culminating in competition day. The initiative wrapped up with a closing ceremony that celebrated and honored the most innovative and impactful projects developed throughout the program.
The HealthTech Challenge aimed to empower Saudi teams in the health technology sector by encouraging the development of innovative digital solutions that merge advanced business models with product innovation principles. Participating teams from across various regions of the Kingdom engaged in intensive workshops and mentorship sessions designed to support and refine their projects.
In the final stage of the event, these teams showcased working prototypes featuring tools for data analysis, interactive user interfaces, and systems capable of extracting and processing medical information.
The results of HealthTech Challenge saw Premedica, Clinome, and Zofa Lab secure the top three positions, receiving a combined total of $119,970 (SAR 450,000) in prizes from MVP Lab / NTDP. Additionally, Vleed, AI Sima, and iCareWay were awarded the ‘Generative AI Award’, presented by the organizing partner, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC).
The ‘HealthTech Challenge’ is one of the strategic initiatives launched by the Center of Digital Entrepreneurship, with the goal of fostering national talent in the rapidly growing digital health sector. The initiative plays a key role in strengthening the Kingdom’s innovation ecosystem by nurturing creative solutions and supporting startups that address real-world healthcare challenges.
The challenge also contributes to the broader objectives of Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation by empowering local capabilities, encouraging technology-driven entrepreneurship, and boosting the digital economy in vital sectors. Ultimately, the challenge aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare services across the Kingdom, in alignment with national development goals.
