Saudi-Omani Investment Forum explores opportunities in economic field

The Saudi-Omani Investment Forum, which witnessed the participation of the Saudi Minister of Investment Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih and Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Mr. Qais Bin Mohammed Al-Yousef explored the available economic and investment opportunities between the countries.

The forum, organized by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion by associating with Oman Investment Authority (OIA), the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), was aimed to reach agreements and partnerships between Omani and Saudi firms.

The event saw discussion panels that covered various subjects, like Invest Saudi, the investment environment, investment opportunities, and Omani Vision 2040. Further, the investment forum witnessed the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding to continue and boost joint action and support the private sector to reach investment opportunities in both countries.

Further, the event held several bilateral meetings between the government and the private sectors of both countries to explore the investment opportunities available in Saudi Arabia and Oman in several sectors like petrochemicals, energy, real estate development, information and communications technology, industry and mining, among others.

During the forum, Mr. Mohammed al Yousuf said that the existing investment structures offer an attractive environment for promising projects. It ensures the existence of a suitable ecosystem for entrepreneurs and investors from Saudi Arabia to enter into partnerships with their Omani counterparts.

The Saudi investors get the same treatment as Omani investors and the ministry will provide technical services and other support to help accelerate steps towards the conclusion of deals for each investor.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Al Falih, stated that the forum benefits from the developmental approaches of both countries and helps to attain the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and Oman Vision 2040.
