The popular music streaming platform Spotify has come up with a new Instagram stories-like feature on which users can see short videos that can be optionally clicked on and watched more.

Earlier Spotify has been seen testing stories collaborating with popular influencers linked to music and video on its streaming service to curate a public playlist for both Android and iOS apps.

Now the streaming platform has introduced its Christmas hits by including the stories feature. The cover art of the playlist will have a small circle with a prompt, “Tap to see the story.” Once tapped, users can see a series of stories featuring musicians like Ava Max, Kelly Clarkson, Meghan Trainor sharing their holiday memories.

As it is not a social media platform users can not send messages or reactions like that of Instagram or Facebook but it still provides the report option in the stories.

Even though Spotify has confirmed it testing the new feature, the streaming platform doesn’t reveal any details about it. Currently, the app is offering the stories by associating with celebrities and users are not given the provision to create their own stories.

It seems Spotify is using the cross-promotional power of YouTube influencers and other social media personalities to secure its service over competitors while also giving creators more ways to reach their fans.
