UAE strengthens strategic partnership with Ethiopia

The UAE and Ethiopia have reviewed their strategic partnership, focusing on key regional developments and the UAE’s continued efforts to enhance security and stability.

The discussions, guided by the visionary leadership of the UAE, emphasized a commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and promoting regional peace.

Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), welcomed Jamal Beker Abdula, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, during a meeting in Abu Dhabi.

Furthermore, the two leaders discussed ways to further deepen cooperation between the two nations in various sectors.

The defense relations between the countries have been marked by a growing partnership focused on mutual security and stability in the Horn of Africa and beyond. Both countries share a commitment to combating regional threats, promoting peace, and enhancing defense cooperation through joint efforts and strategic dialogues.

Both parties underscored the critical importance of pursuing political solutions to ongoing regional crises, highlighting diplomacy as key to long-term stability. They also praised the effectiveness of Emirati agencies, acknowledging their advanced defensive capabilities in safeguarding the nation’s security.

Furthermore, both leaders commended the UAE’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens, residents, and visitors, recognizing the vital role these efforts play in maintaining peace and stability both within the country and across the region.

The Ethiopian Ambassador expressed his country’s appreciation for the deep cooperation and partnership with the UAE, as well as its steadfast approach to supporting regional and international security and peace.

He further affirmed Ethiopia’s full solidarity with the UAE against any threats to its sovereignty, security, or territorial integrity.
