The University of Bahrain (UOB) has launched a digital inquiry service for students and graduates to track requests for official letters, academic transcripts, and certificates.
The initiative supports Bahrain’s efforts to improve public services through digital transformation. The new service allows applicants to check the status of their requests online without waiting for email notifications, providing faster access to information on enrollment letters, graduation requirement completion letters, graduation letters, academic transcripts, and graduation certificates.
According to the university, the upgraded system has reduced request processing time from two working days to an instant automated process.
The application process has also been simplified to four steps, while the number of required approvals and the service-level agreement have each been reduced by 25 percent.
Users can access the service by logging in with their eKey account or by entering their CPR number, university ID number, and date of birth. Once authenticated, applicants can immediately view the status of their request and obtain a copy of the requested document.
Previously, requests were submitted by email to the Student Service Centre, where they were reviewed before applicants received a response.
Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain, said that the service reflects the university’s efforts to introduce digital services that improve transparency and simplify procedures for students and graduates.
Al Ansari added that the service provides a self-service inquiry option, reduces the time and effort required to obtain information, and supports the university’s digital transformation program. The initiative also standardizes service information across different channels.
The initiative is part of Bahrain’s wider program to modernize government services. According to the government, more than 1,300 public services have been documented, translated, and published, while around 800 services are being developed and re-engineered across government entities.
The program is based on feedback received through the Tawasul National System for Suggestions and Complaints, investor feedback, secret-shopper evaluations, and the implementation of service-level agreements and guidance manuals to improve efficiency and service delivery.
