The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) and Uzbekistan’s Center for Progressive Reforms (CPR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic collaboration and professional training.
The MoU, facilitated by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Doha, highlights both countries’ mutual commitment to education, workforce development, and economic empowerment.
The signing ceremony saw the presence of HE Ashraf Khodjaev, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Qatar; Dr. Salem Al Naemi, UDST President; and Mirshohid Aslanov, CEO and Co-founder of the Center for Progressive Reforms (CPR), Uzbekistan, among others.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment to sharing Qatar’s vocational training expertise with partner nations. By fostering academic exchanges, research initiatives, and professional training, we aim to create significant benefits for students, faculty, and the workforce in both Qatar and Uzbekistan.”
Aslanov stressed the center’s impact on Uzbekistan’s Fergana Valley, a region with a large working-age population.“By equipping young people with globally competitive skills, we are opening new pathways to prosperity for thousands,” added Aslanov.
As part of this collaboration, the Uzbek-Qatar Vocational Skills Center will be established in Namangan, Uzbekistan, aimed at offering specialized training for engineers, industrial workers, and nurses, leveraging UDST’s globally recognized vocational programs.
Graduates will earn certificates, enhancing their career opportunities in Qatar, the Middle East, and beyond. The establishment of the center represents a significant milestone in the expanding partnership between the two countries. As Uzbekistan and Qatar continue to explore collaboration in trade, investment, and education, this highlights the transformative power of international cooperation in cultivating a skilled workforce.
Qatar has established itself as a pioneer in education, particularly in technical and vocational training. By offering industry-focused curricula, advanced learning facilities, and skill-oriented programs, Institutions like UDST have set high standards, empowering students to thrive in a rapidly changing job market.
Furthermore, Qatar remains committed to supporting global educational and humanitarian projects. The Uzbek-Qatar Vocational Skills Center falls in line with the nation’s broader vision of fostering sustainable development through education, reinforcing its role as a global advocate for knowledge-driven growth.
