ADFD, ADEX & Al Dahra discuss ways to develop agriculture sector

A delegation from Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) and the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX), have visited Al Dahra Agricultural Company in Khalifa Industrial Zone (KIZAD) in order to explore various ways to develop the agriculture sector.

The visit discussed ways to enhance cooperation and underscored ADFD’s role in supporting the effort of major national companies to access global markets. Al Dahra is one of the leading firms in the UAE’s food and agriculture sector.

Furthermore, the two sides stressed the importance of closer cooperation and increased efforts to enhance the competitiveness of the national export sector, boost the national economy and increase the country’s GDP.

ADFD delegation was briefed about the functions of the company’s various departments, its production, and trade of essential food commodities, supply chains, and warehousing.

Mr. Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Abu Dhabi Exports Office, said that, “At Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, we are keen to strengthen relations and unify efforts with national institutions operating in vital sectors. We attach great importance to supporting the national private sector, developing national exports, and enhancing their global competitiveness.”

“Our visit to Al Dahra Agricultural Company is part of our initiative to support the company’s strides in the agriculture sector and to achieve the national strategic objective to diversify the UAE’s economy,” Mr. Al Suwaidi added.

Mr. Khedaim Abdulla Al Derei, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Al Dahra Group, noted that the visit was in line with the Emirates’ national and economic goals to develop the agriculture sector and enhance the sustainability of food security, which are considered essential to strengthen and diversify the national economy.
