The Bahrain National Cyber Security Centre, in cooperation with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), has launched a month-long awareness campaign to promote the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in workplaces across the Kingdom.
The campaign runs from July 4 to July 31 and targets public and private sector employees to raise cybersecurity awareness and address risks associated with the use of AI technologies.
Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of the National Cyber Security Centre, stated that the increasing adoption of AI across workplaces has made cybersecurity awareness an essential component of protecting data, ensuring reliable decision-making and supporting digital transformation initiatives.
Al Khalifa added that while AI offers significant opportunities to improve operational performance, efficiency, and innovation, organizations must ensure its deployment is supported by appropriate cybersecurity controls and responsible usage practices.
Dr. Ahmed Abdulhameed Al Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), emphasized that the initiative reflects the importance of national collaboration in promoting the secure use of AI technologies and strengthening the capabilities of the national workforce to address evolving cybersecurity risks.
Al Shaikh noted that enhancing awareness and building practical knowledge will help organizations adopt AI technologies more securely while supporting the Kingdom’s broader digital transformation objectives.
The campaign will feature a range of awareness activities, including social media content, weekly electronic newsletters, an interactive awareness platform, and an experts’ forum focused on cybersecurity challenges and best practices for the safe use of AI in the workplace.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by the National Cyber Security Centre and the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance to promote cybersecurity awareness.
