The General Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of CMA CGM’s new LRX shipping service to Jeddah Islamic Port.
This LRX shipping service to Jeddah Islamic Port will contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of Saudi ports, facilitating global trade, opening new business horizons, and raising the operational efficiency of Jeddah Islamic Port.
The new LRX shipping service connects Jeddah Islamic Port to four regional and international ports, including the ports of Latakia in Syria, Iskenderun and Mersin in Turkey, and Beirut in Lebanon, with a capacity of up to 2,826 standard containers.
The addition of LRX shipping service comes as part of Mawani’s efforts to enhance the Kingdom’s ranking in global performance indicators, supporting national exports.
This is in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics, which aims to consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics center and a hub connecting three continents.
It is worth noting that Jeddah Islamic Port ranks first among Red Sea ports due to its distinguished location and 62 multi-purpose berths. It also enjoys a pivotal position regionally and globally, playing a major role in strengthening the Kingdom’s leadership in the maritime sector.
Recognized for its vital role in global and regional maritime trade, the port continues to play a key part in advancing Saudi Arabia’s status as a logistics and shipping hub. Its geographical advantage and modern capabilities make it a cornerstone in the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen its leadership in the maritime sector.
Jeddah Islamic Port’s ranking reflects its growing influence and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of boosting transport and logistics services as part of broader economic diversification.
