DEWA attains market leadership with AI technology from NVIDIA

The US-based NVIDIA Corporation, a leader in GPU and AI computing technologies has awarded The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) with a certificate of acknowledgment for being the first UAE government organization to leverage NVIDIA GPU Computing Technology among government entities in Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Data processing.

The move improves DEWA’s leadership as an incubator for creativity and innovation.

DEWA has been enhancing its AI initiatives in collaboration with NVIDIA GPU since 2019. The organization also uses the technology to improve its varied services such as training and inferencing of AI and Deep Learning models, with utility-focused applications of Network Design and Area Planning, Smart Response, along with ongoing initiatives such as Advanced Image Recognition, Smart Grid Big Data and Analytics Applications, and Verification of Engineering Drawings.

DEWA uses use AI extensively to support several key initiatives which include Rammas, its virtual employee that answers customers’ inquiries in English and Arabic. Rammas is available on DEWA’s website, smart app, Amazon’s Alexa, Facebook, Google Assistant, and WhatsApp Business platform. Rammas learns and processes customers’ needs to analyze and evaluate as per given data, and respond accurately to facilitate transactions.
