The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has formed the UAE Pharma Business Group to establish a framework that will promote and support the growth of local manufacturers of medicine within the UAE, GCC and across the globe.
The Group will welcome 50 member companies representing expertise across key sub-sectors of the pharmaceutical industry to support the UAE’s aspirations to become a leading hub for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and medical device manufacturing industries.
With the support and guidance of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the new business group will offer an appropriate platform for companies operating in the pharmaceutical industry to voice their concerns and share their feedback on rules and regulations affecting industry partners.
The UAE Pharma Business Group was launched during a meeting between member companies and representatives of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce at the Dubai Chamber headquarters.
Mr. Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Chairman of the UAE Pharma Business Group and Managing Director of Dubai Science Park, stated that “There is great scope for the UAE to become a leading hub for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and medical device manufacturing industry considering the great demand emerging not only locally, but also on a regional scale for quality medicine and health care.”
Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Senior Manager of Business Relations Mr. Mohammed bin Sulaiman, said the establishment of the UAE Pharma Business Group is an important step towards aligning the efforts of key stakeholders and enhancing the competitiveness of the sector. Mr. Bin Sulaiman also emphasized the crucial role played by business groups in supporting Dubai’s sustainable growth, and these organizations incorporate integrated expertise and capabilities.
As a facilitator for business groups and councils in Dubai, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce aims to enhance the trade ties between business communities in Dubai as well as improve relations between business groups in the region and other countries around the world.
