e& UAE, the flagship telecom unit of e&, has achieved a significant milestone by securing three GSMA CAMARA API certifications as part of the GSMA Open Gateway initiative.
This achievement positions e& UAE at the forefront of telecom innovation in the MENA region, advancing API interoperability, digital transformation and monetization strategies.
The GSMA CAMARA API certifications, awarded for SIM Swap, Carrier Billing, and Device Status APIs. These reinforce e& UAE’s leadership in implementing developer-ready, standardized telecom interfaces.
These Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) enable seamless integration between software systems, allowing developers and partners to securely access key network functionalities such as authentication, billing, and real-time device insights.
As part of the GSMA CAMARA project, these APIs promote industry-wide standardization and enhance secure access to core network capabilities. e& UAE is currently the only operator in the MENA region to be certified across three CAMARA APIs, according to the GSMA Open Gateway portal, setting a new regional benchmark for telecom innovation.
This progress reflects e& UAE’s strategic focus on API monetization, enabling scalable, secure solutions that enhance user experiences and create new revenue streams for partners.
The three certified GSMA CAMARA APIs are:
SIM Swap API: Ensures secure and seamless customer authentication and service management.
Carrier Billing API: The region’s first certified deployment, enabling frictionless digital payments.
Device Status API: Recently re-certified to provide real-time device insights and improve operational efficiency.
