Etihad Airways and Condor have expanded their strategic partnership with the signing of a frequent flyer agreement and the announcement of a new Condor service between Bangkok and Abu Dhabi.
The developments were announced during the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro and build on the strategic partnership established between the two airlines in December 2025.
Under the new frequent flyer agreement, members of the Etihad Guest program will be able to redeem miles on flights operated by Condor, providing access to destinations across Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and other markets served by the German carrier.
The agreement adds to the existing cooperation between the airlines, which already includes a comprehensive codeshare arrangement.
The partnership continues to expand across network connectivity, loyalty programs, commercial activities, and operational initiatives aimed at improving travel options and customer convenience.
New Bangkok service via Abu Dhabi
Condor also announced plans to launch a new service between Bangkok and Abu Dhabi, further expanding its operations through the UAE capital.
The Bangkok route will join Condor’s planned daily services from Frankfurt and Berlin to Abu Dhabi. The Berlin route will provide the only direct air connection between the UAE and the German capital.
With Frankfurt, Berlin, and Bangkok forming part of Condor’s Abu Dhabi network, the airline is increasing connectivity through the emirate and providing additional travel options for passengers across both airlines’ networks.
The expanded operation will allow travelers to connect through Abu Dhabi to a broader range of destinations served by Etihad across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Australia.
Expanding network connectivity
The partnership combines Condor’s strong presence in Germany and its leisure travel network with Etihad’s global route network centered around Abu Dhabi.
The airlines said the cooperation is creating additional travel opportunities between Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Australia while supporting Abu Dhabi’s tourism and aviation objectives.
Etihad Guest members can earn and redeem miles across a range of travel and lifestyle services, including flights, hotel stays, holidays, retail purchases, and partner programs.
The new agreement extends those benefits to Condor-operated services, giving members access to a wider range of destinations.
