Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the official sponsor of the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix Formula 1 race, has welcomed the confirmation by Formula 1 and the International Automobile Federation (FIA) that the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix will be held at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia from October 2 to 4.

In conjunction with the confirmation, Gulf Air announced its intention to operate direct flights between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Kuala Lumpur. The planned service is aimed at strengthening air connectivity between Bahrain and Malaysia while providing motorsport enthusiasts and travelers with a convenient and seamless gateway to experience the 2026 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix Formula 1 race.
The direct flights are expected to facilitate easier travel for Formula 1 fans, support tourism flows between the two countries, and reinforce Bahrain’s global presence through one of the world’s premier motorsport events.
The airline’s partnership with Formula 1 dates back to the inaugural Formula 1 Grand Prix held in the Gulf region in 2004. The long-standing relationship reflects the strength and continuity of the airline’s support for the sport and its role in promoting Bahrain on the international stage.
