His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, has received a delegation from Etihad Rail at Al Dhanna Palace.
The delegation was led by Shadi Malak, CEO of Etihad Rail. The visit underscores His Highness’s ongoing commitment to overseeing strategic national projects and his steadfast support for infrastructure development initiatives across the UAE.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the latest developments of the UAE’s national railway network, one of the country’s largest strategic transportation projects, designed to connect the Emirates through a modern, safe, and efficient rail system that promotes economic growth and social integration.
According to the statement, the Etihad Rail delegation presented the completed phases of the project, particularly those within the Al Dhafra region, and outlined future expansion plans, including proposed links with other GCC countries. The presentation also highlighted the project’s environmental and economic benefits, such as reducing carbon emissions and enhancing sustainability through eco-friendly transportation solutions.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the efforts of the Etihad Rail team, commending their exceptional professionalism and steadfast commitment to delivering this vital national project by the highest international standards. His Highness highlighted the strategic significance of the railway network in enhancing connectivity across the Emirates and emphasized its pivotal role in driving comprehensive and sustainable development.
HH Sheikh Hamdan further noted that the project aligns with the UAE’s long-term vision for economic diversification, environmental sustainability, and social cohesion, reaffirming the leadership’s dedication to building a world-class transportation infrastructure that supports the nation’s future ambitions.
The meeting was attended by Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ruler’s Representative Court in Al Dhafra Region, along with several other officials, as per the statement.
