Ithra Dubai has launched Dubai Gold District, a purpose-built destination designed to position Dubai as the world’s premier hub for gold trade, retail, and investment, in a landmark move for the gold and jewelry sector of the emirate.
Developed as a unified destination, Dubai Gold District brings together the entire gold and jewelry value chain, retail, bullion, wholesale trade, and investment, reinforcing Dubai’s position as one of the world’s most trusted gold hubs.
The District was unveiled in the presence of HE Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Shaibani, Managing Director of the Investment Corporation of Dubai, and HE Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and Dr Juma Al Matrooshi, Assistant to the Secretary General of the Dubai Free Zones Council, and Issam Galadari, CEO of Ithra Dubai, joined by long term traders from across the District.
The launch underscores the UAE’s role as a leading global gold trading nation, having exported approximately $53.41 billion in gold in 2024–25 to key markets including Switzerland, the UK, India, Hong Kong and Türkiye, making it the world’s second-largest physical gold trading destination.

The unveiling marks a significant milestone for the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, reinforcing the District’s role in shaping the future of the global gold and jewelry trade.

The District stands out for its unmatched global reach, welcoming shoppers from more than 147 nationalities in 2025 alone, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a truly international marketplace for gold and jewelry.
A signature attraction will be the world’s first Gold Street, a gold-constructed street set to become a distinctive landmark for visitors, with details to be unveiled in phases. The destination features over 1,000 retailers across gold, jewelry, perfumery, cosmetics and lifestyle categories, including flagship stores from Jawhara Jewellery, Malabar Gold and Diamonds, Al Romaizan and Tanishq, alongside Joyalukkas’ upcoming 24,000 sq ft flagship, its largest in the Middle East.
Supporting Dubai’s broader retail and tourism ecosystem, the District is complemented by more than 1,000 hotel rooms across six hotels, while new Big Bus routes introduced in 2025 have enhanced accessibility and strengthened its appeal as a premier gold and jewelry shopping destination.
