Kuwait’s leadership and key ministries are stepping up measures to secure essential supplies, maintain public services, and ensure operational continuity amid regional tensions.
The Prime Minister, HH Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, chaired a meeting to review plans for strengthening the strategic stockpile, ensuring the availability of essential goods, and maintaining smooth supply chains. The Prime Minister also reviewed recent economic developments and fiscal measures to reinforce financial stability.
The defense ministry reported that over the past 24 hours, Kuwaiti air defenses detected 17 hostile ballistic missiles and 13 drones. Thirteen missiles and 10 drones were intercepted; remaining projectiles fell outside threat zones. Debris caused limited damage to homes and power lines, with no injuries.
The interior ministry handled 13 debris-related reports, bringing the total to 511, with no casualties. Air raid sirens were activated 13 times, totaling 131 alerts. Authorities urged the public to avoid debris sites and use the amnesty period to surrender unlicensed weapons before April 1.
The ministry of electricity, water, and renewable energy confirmed that seven transmission lines were damaged, causing partial outages. Restoration teams are ready once sites are secured. Despite disruptions, essential services remain operational. Healthcare facilities continue around the clock, while the Civil Service Commission’s 30 percent workforce policy remains in effect.
Education continues through flexible remote learning. Short quizzes are postponed, final exam plans are under review, and textbooks are being delivered directly to students’ homes. Higher education institutions maintain efficient remote teaching, monitor attendance and performance, and prepare for online exams.
