The Kingdom of Oman has strengthened its efforts to regulate the e-commerce sector with ongoing updates to the ‘Ma’roof Oman’ platform, reflecting growing adoption among merchants and heightened consumer engagement.
As of February 2026, the platform has registered 340 licensed online stores, with 670 pending registration requests, demonstrating its expanding role in enhancing transparency, trust, and safe digital transactions across the Sultanate.
Developed by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, the platform serves both sellers and buyers. It enables merchants to document their licenses, prove compliance, and reach wider audiences, while allowing consumers to verify official store authentication, access accurate information, and make informed purchase decisions.
The Ma’roof Oman platform is particularly critical during peak shopping periods such as Ramadan and Eid, when online activity surges.
The Ministry has emphasized the importance of verifying store authentication before completing transactions, reinforcing a culture of safe and responsible shopping.
