The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the expansion of its services with the addition of Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) North India to Middle East shipping route to King Abdullah Port in King Abdullah Economic City, Rabigh.

This strategic move aims to enhance the competitiveness of Saudi ports within the global maritime transport network, facilitate smoother international trade flows, and boost operational efficiency.

The North India to Middle East shipping service now connects King Abdullah Port in King Abdullah Economic City, Rabigh, with a network of regional and international ports, enhancing Saudi Arabia’s position in global maritime trade.

This service links key ports such as Mundra Port and Jawaharlal Nehru Port (Nhava Sheva) in India, before reaching King Abdullah Port. With a capacity of up to 2,500 TEUs, the route is set to significantly increase trade flow between the Middle East and India, improving operational efficiency and expanding the port’s role in facilitating international shipping, according to Mawani.

King Abdullah Port continues to solidify its position as a key strategic logistics hub, leveraging its advanced operational capabilities and wide range of services.

By facilitating the smooth flow of cargo and enhancing supply chain efficiency, the port plays a crucial role in boosting the competitiveness of Saudi ports both regionally and on the global stage.

This ongoing development underscores King Abdullah Port’s commitment to becoming a leading player in international trade and logistics, as per the statement.

Recently, Mawani unveiled the addition of three new shipping services operated by global shipping giant Maersk at both Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah Port.

The newly introduced services by Mawani will establish vital connections between Jeddah Islamic Port and four key regional and international ports: Nhava Sheva and Mundra in India, Salalah in Oman, and King Abdullah Port. The routes will loop back to Jeddah Islamic Port, enhancing connectivity across these major trade hubs.
