Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), an Abu Dhabi sovereign investor, and Embraer, a leading Brazil-headquartered aerospace company, have signed a Strategic Framework Agreement to strengthen long-term collaboration across aerospace supply chains, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), human capital development, and research and development.
The agreement was signed at the Farnborough International Airshow by Amer Siddiqui, Executive Director at Mubadala’s UAE Investments Platform, on behalf of Mubadala, and Dimas Douglas Tomelin, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer of Embraer S.A., on behalf of Embraer.
The partnership leverages the UAE’s integrated aerospace ecosystem, spanning aerostructures, advanced materials, MRO, and aviation services. It comes as global aircraft manufacturers increasingly consolidate supplier networks in favour of fewer, larger partners capable of delivering across the value chain.
Workforce development is a key focus of the agreement, with Mubadala and Embraer set to jointly develop training programmes, practical learning, knowledge transfer, and work placements at Embraer facilities for Emirati talent.
The partners will also collaborate on research into next-generation aerostructure technologies, including composites, additive manufacturing, and high-temperature alloys, with plans to establish a co-located innovation hub to accelerate prototyping and industrial-scale deployment.
The agreement creates opportunities for two of the UAE’s flagship aerospace companies. For Sanad, the Abu Dhabi-based MRO specialist serving more than 40 global airlines, it opens the possibility of providing MRO services with potential expansion across GCC and South Asia, Middle East and North Africa (SAMENA) markets as demand grows.
