Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, has received Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, who has been on an official visit to Oman as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and deepen mutual engagement.
The Oman-Thailand meeting dealt with bilateral relations and the growing pace of cooperation between the two friendly countries in the fields of trade, investment and tourism.
The discussions also looked into prospects for enhancing cooperation in the field of diplomatic training, including the exchange of expertise and capacity-building initiatives.
The two sides exchanged views about the latest developments in the region and the ensuing implications for international peace and security. The ministers stressed the importance of ‘building on the ceasefire agreement’ and the need to devise sustainable solutions through peaceful means, dialogue and constructive international cooperation.
Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, expressed the appreciation of his country’s government for the Sultanate of Oman’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, particularly in fostering dialogue and extending assistance during times of regional challenges.
The Thai minister valued Oman’s outstanding role in supporting regional and international stability and promoting dialogue among concerned parties, highlighting its constructive and balanced approach to resolving conflicts.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador-at-Large Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Sheikh Hamid bin Ali Al Maani, Chairman of the Diplomatic Academy, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Hosni, Head of the Asia and Pacific Department. Also present was Warunee Pan-Krajang, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Sultanate of Oman, along with a number of senior officials from both sides.
