The Omani Business Forum for Empowering Light Industries has convened in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate, organized by the Salalah Free Zone in collaboration with the Business Forum.
The Omani Business Forum was organized with the aim of developing value-added industries for local products and localizing national light industry technology. The event brought together a number of entrepreneurs, investors, and individuals interested in the industrial sector.
This initiative is expected to support local projects that depend on national raw materials by transforming them into high-quality, value-added products capable of competing in local, regional, and global markets. The Omani Business Forum’s program featured three comprehensive working papers.
The first paper focused on the pivotal role of the Salalah Free Zone in supporting light and medium industries, positioning it as a key pillar of economic diversification and a driver for job creation.
The second paper reviewed the significant efforts of the Development Bank in empowering light industries through its various financing programs and initiatives.
The third paper highlighted the features of Madayn’s Raysut Industrial City, emphasizing the range of advantages and incentives it offers to attract and support investors.
In addition to the papers, the Omani Business Forum included a visual presentation showcasing Oman’s infrastructure and the diverse investment opportunities available across the country. The presentation aimed to give attendees, comprising entrepreneurs, investors, and industry professionals a clearer understanding of the national industrial landscape and the strategic advantages Oman offers for business development and expansion.
The Omani Business Forum concluded with a formal recognition and awards ceremony, which honored a selection of distinguished light industrial projects that demonstrated innovation, quality, and economic impact. The ceremony also acknowledged the vital contributions of the forum’s supporting and sponsoring entities, whose collaboration and commitment played a key role in the success of the event.
