“Safety and sustainability are non-negotiable in ICT. Our achievements in this field demonstrate our commitment to building resilient infrastructure that our customers can trust for their most critical digital workloads, today and in the future.”

The certifications establish Ooredoo Data Centers as the first in Oman to integrate safety and environmental best practice into ICT infrastructure at this scale. This sets a new benchmark for the Sultanate’s fast-growing ICT sector.

The achievement is also a cornerstone of Ooredoo’s ICT Operations Excellence Roadmap 2025, directly supporting the company’s ambition to launch Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) in Oman. This aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which emphasizes sustainable economic diversification and national digital transformation.

The Bousher and Sohar Data Centers are being developed by Ooredoo Oman in partnership with Microsoft Azure, a major cloud computing service. These centers will offer cloud services to customers in Oman and the wider region, promoting digital transformation and economic growth.

Ooredoo currently operates 26 data centers across Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, and Tunisia. The company plans to expand its capacity to more than 120MW through a $1 billion investment in the medium to long term.
