Q Mobility, a leading provider of smart mobility solutions, has activated a paid parking system across several commercial sectors in Mohamed Bin Zayed City, under the supervision of the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport.
This new initiative aims to regulate parking use, alleviate traffic challenges, and enhance the overall road user experience. Starting April 6, 2026, the paid parking system will be operational in commercial sectors ME10 and ME11, as well as along the main street in villa zones Z17-01, Z19, Z20, and Z27. These areas have been identified as experiencing high traffic and commercial density, which the new system aims to address.
Villa area parking regulations
In addition to commercial sectors, parking within surrounding villa areas will also be regulated. Reserved spaces will be available exclusively for permit holders, ensuring that residents’ privacy is maintained while organizing parking within these residential neighborhoods.
The activation of the paid parking system is expected to improve traffic flow and reduce the occurrence of random parking. This will facilitate smoother access to businesses and service establishments, ultimately supporting the area’s economic activity and contributing to a more efficient working environment.
Mohamed Bin Zayed City, known for its high daily vehicle movement due to a large number of employees and visitors, has long struggled with parking shortages and congestion. This new system is seen as a solution to these challenges, improving accessibility for visitors and boosting commercial activity.
Q Mobility announce coverage and payment system
The activation will cover a total of 11,030 subsidiary parking spaces, distributed as follows: ME10 with 6,666 spaces, ME11 with 3,758 spaces, Z17-01 with 431 spaces, Z19 with 108 spaces, and Z20 with 67 spaces. The system also includes dedicated parking spaces for People of Determination, reflecting Q Mobility’s commitment to providing inclusive and sustainable mobility solutions.
A fee of $0.54 (AED 2) per hour will apply to the secondary parking spaces. Users can make payments through multiple digital channels, including the ‘Darb‘ and ‘TAMM‘ applications, SMS, or on-site payment machines, ensuring a convenient experience for all.
Q Mobility emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance parking management and ease traffic congestion in Abu Dhabi, in line with the emirate’s vision for a sustainable and advanced urban mobility system.
