Qatar Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani has held discussions with leading representatives of Qatar’s private sector as the government continues efforts to strengthen business confidence, improve the investment climate, and support economic growth.

The meeting, held in Doha, brought together officials from the Qatar Chamber and the Qatari Businessmen Association as part of a series of ongoing consultations between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the business community. The discussions focused on key challenges currently facing private sector companies, alongside proposals aimed at enhancing the business environment and supporting Qatar’s broader economic development agenda.

The talks also reviewed the impact of current economic and commercial developments on companies operating in Qatar, with participants examining measures intended to ease potential pressures on businesses and improve operational efficiency.

HE Sheikh Faisal reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the private sector and enabling businesses to play a greater role in driving sustainable economic growth. He said the meetings were designed to establish direct communication channels with business leaders, helping the government better understand the challenges facing companies and integrate private sector feedback into future policies, regulations, and procedures.

Participants further discussed efforts to modernize commercial regulatory and legislative framework of the nation, including initiatives aimed at simplifying procedures, accelerating services, and making it easier for companies to conduct business in the country.

The meeting forms part of the country’s wider strategy to support private sector participation and diversify the national economy beyond hydrocarbons. In recent years, authorities have introduced a range of reforms and initiatives to attract investment, stimulate entrepreneurship, and strengthen the country’s long-term economic competitiveness in line with national development goals.
