Qatar Chamber explores ways to boost economic ties with Turkmenistan

Qatar Chamber and Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry have discussed ways to develop joint cooperation between Qatari and Turkmen companies and explore investment opportunities in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, Qatar Chamber (QC) board member, Mr. Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, has called for the establishment of a Qatari-Turkmen Business Council in order to strengthen economic ties between Qatar and Turkmenistan.

The move aims to foster cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, capitalizing on the vast potential they offer. The council’s establishment is anticipated to facilitate deeper relations between Qatar and Turkmenistan, especially in the economic, trade, investment, and industrial sectors.

Mr. Al-Obaidly expressed the keen interest of Qatari businessmen in learning about the investment prospects available in Turkmenistan and emphasized the significance of establishing effective partnerships and economic alliances that would mutually benefit the economies of both friendly nations.

The proposed Qatari-Turkmen Business Council is expected to play a crucial role in defining the investment climate in both countries and presenting available opportunities, paving the way for fruitful collaborations between entrepreneurs.

Mr. Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, affirmed the existing ties between Turkmenistan and Qatar and conveyed a desire to strengthen trade relations while leveraging the available capabilities of both nations.

Furthermore, Mr. Gurdov emphasized that “the establishment of the Qatari-Turkmen Business Council would be instrumental in enhancing trade relations and providing Qatari and Turkmen companies with opportunities to form deals and alliances.”

The Chairman of the Turkmenistan Chamber invited Qatari businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Turkmenistan, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, oil, gas, energy, and petrochemicals. Mr. Gurdov also assured that the Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry is ready to assist Qatari investors looking to invest in Turkmenistan.
