Qatar & Kosovo explore new avenues of bilateral trade ties

During her recent interaction with Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Southeastern European nation, Kosovo’s President Dr. Vjosa Osmani invited Qatari businessmen to explore investment opportunities offered by the country. 

The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the Doha Forum, was attended by the Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mr. Mohammed bin Tower Al Quwari, other board members and a delegation from Kosovo.

The meeting reviewed the investment climate of the two countries, bilateral relations at the trade and economic levels and ways to improve them along with opportunities in the private sector and the role of trade development between both sides.

Dr. Osmani appreciated the strong ties between the two countries and expressed the country’s desire to take these ties to higher levels, especially in the trade and investment sectors.

Kosovo President invited Qatari businessmen to explore investment opportunities in various sectors, including agriculture, mining and energy, and others. Dr. Osmani stated that Kosovo is trying to attract Qatari investors to invest in jobs that would create employment for Kosovo’s citizens.

Sheikh Khalifa lauded the good relations between Qatar and Kosovo, pointing out that trade relations are still below the aspirations of the two friendly countries. The Qatar Chamber Chairman called upon the industrialists of both countries to enhance cooperation in light of the vast opportunities available in both countries.

Sheikh Khalifa pledged strong support for business cooperation between the two countries. “Qatari investors are interested to get acquainted with the opportunities available in Kosovo,” Sheikh Khalifa added.
