The State of Qatar and the Republic of Uzbekistan have discussed ways to strengthen bilateral economic, trade, and investment ties and explored partnership opportunities in strategic projects during an official visit by a Qatari delegation to Tashkent.
The delegation was headed by Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry HE Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed.
During the visit, His Excellency held bilateral meetings with several senior Uzbek officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyar Saidov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov, and Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamahmudov.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and exploring partnership and investment opportunities across priority sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, and other areas aligned with the two countries’ shared economic interests.
On the sidelines of the visit, HE Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov co-chaired the Qatari-Uzbekistan roundtable meeting in Tashkent, attended by representatives from the public and private sectors of both countries.
His Excellency highlighted that the meeting reflects the growing momentum in relations between Qatar and Uzbekistan and the shared commitment to elevating economic, trade, and investment cooperation to broader levels.
The minister noted the importance that the State of Qatar attaches to this strategic partnership and its interest in exploring new opportunities for long-term cooperation and investment.

The two sides also reviewed cooperation opportunities in strategic projects and discussed investment prospects available to Qatari investors and institutions. They further explored mechanisms to strengthen public-private sector collaboration and activate the joint Qatari-Uzbekistan Business Council to support sustainable economic partnerships between the two countries.
The Qatari delegation included senior executives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Qatar Investment Authority, the Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Airways, Qatar Development Bank, and the Qatar Fund for Development.
