The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) to enhance services for users, enabling them to access SAR services through the national comprehensive application Tawakkalna.

Signed during the LEAP25 conference, the MoU aims to simplify processes and save time and effort for users, improving their overall experience. Through the Tawakkalna app, users will be able to view passenger data, book tickets, and display them digitally.

The agreement also seeks to establish a general framework for cooperation between SDAIA and SAR across various fields to enhance digital services and develop artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Additionally, the MoU explores areas of cooperation in innovation and the development of modern technologies, as well as expanding the application of AI across different operations.

This collaboration aims to enhance service efficiency, develop innovative solutions to improve performance and quality and contribute to a sustainable digital transformation.

This MoU aligns with SDAIA’s broader efforts to support Saudi Vision 2030 by promoting innovation and leveraging modern technologies across various sectors. It reinforces SDAIA’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships, accelerating digital transformation, and enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a leading hub for technology and innovation on both regional and global levels.

Last month, SDAIA introduced an accreditation certificate for artificial intelligence (AI) service providers in Saudi Arabia. The landmark initiative comes as part of SDAIA’s national efforts to elevate AI maturity level and strengthen the reliability of its diverse applications. The goal of these measures is to improve the quality of AI products and services available to citizens, residents, and visitors to the Kingdom.
