One of the region’s major free zones focused on innovation, the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) has unveiled a new initiative, Sharjah Angel Investors Network (SAIN) to make the region an open global laboratory for testing new concepts of advanced future technology with innovation and entrepreneurship at its core.

The initiative will facilitate high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) to become angel investors who will support emerging business start-ups. With specialized training on the elements of angel investment, diversification of risk, negotiation and engagement with entrepreneurs, SAIN enhances the capabilities of HNIs to make sound business deals and encourage upcoming enterprises.

Angel Investors

Angel Investors are often organized or unorganized investors who support an enterprise or an entrepreneur in starting off the business or with an ongoing investment to support and carry the company through its difficult early stages.

“We are super excited with the launching of Sharjah Angels Investors Network. Our network of Sharjah angels will boost access to investors and funds for companies and partners based at SRTI Park. In past two weeks, we have cemented our relationship with various strategic regional and local funds to facilitate start ups and innovative SMEs access to funds.”

The SRTI CEO further added that the SAIN platform will link modern technology and innovation companies with Sharjah’s financial, business and investor community.

“We aspire to attract 30 investors in 2021. This network will be limited to members only and based on the UAE’s 50-year vision and an innovative system that runs according to well-thought-out plans as well as empowering emerging companies,” Mr. Al Mahmoudi remarked.
