Sohar Industrial City, an affiliate of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), has localized six new projects with a combined investment over $70.13 million (OMR 27 million), reinforcing its position as a key hub for manufacturing and economic development in Oman.

The developments span a total area of 162,000 square meters and include ventures across the oil, steel, marble, tile, food, and wood industries in the Sohar Industrial City.

The largest agreement was signed with the National Petrochemical and Investment Company, which will establish a major oil industry project valued at approximately $65 million (OMR 25 million) on 125,000 sqm of land. This project is expected to significantly contribute to the local energy and downstream manufacturing sectors.

In the steel sector, Sultan Al Shidi Engineering Projects signed an agreement to develop a specialized steel industry facility on 3,843 sqm, with an investment of $2.6 million (OMR 1 million). Iron Trading and Investment will also establish a separate steel project valued at $1.56 million (OMR 600,000) over 8,760 sqm.

Diversifying its industrial offerings, Sohar Industrial City signed an agreement with Asas International for a marble and tiles project worth $1.04 million (OMR 400,000) on an 11,000 sqm plot. This will help boost local stone and construction materials manufacturing capacity.

In the food processing sector, Al Rawdha International Business will invest over $390,000 (OMR 150,000) to develop a facility on 2,688 sqm. Additionally, the United Wooden Platform Company has committed to a wood industry project with a matching investment of $390,000 (OMR 150,000) on an 11,250 sqm area.

These agreements reflect Madayn’s ongoing efforts to attract diverse investments to Oman’s industrial estates, particularly in Sohar, a strategic location for manufacturing and export. The newly localized projects at Sohar Industrial City are expected to support the Sultanate’s industrial diversification, generate employment opportunities, and promote downstream industries, aligning with Oman Vision 2040.
