STC Group has strengthened its technical and digital infrastructure across the holy sites during the Hajj season, introducing advanced communications and smart technology solutions aimed at improving connectivity, crowd management and service reliability for pilgrims.

As part of its Hajj operations strategy, STC deployed 5G Flying Sites powered by drone technology to maintain uninterrupted digital services, accelerate response times and provide rapid network coverage in high-demand areas. The technology is designed to reduce network congestion, ease pressure on communications infrastructure and expand coverage with greater operational flexibility.

The company also launched its advanced ‘New Calling’ service, enabling real-time voice call translation between Arabic and English. Supported by integrated language models and advanced network systems, the service allows users to communicate in their native languages while conversations are translated instantly with contextual accuracy, supporting pilgrims from multiple nationalities.

To manage increased data traffic and operational demand during Hajj, STC established 90 maintenance centers across the holy sites and deployed more than 550 specialized technicians at key locations to ensure rapid response and 24-hour emergency support.

The company said its operational readiness followed a series of testing procedures based on an advanced data management strategy aligned with international best practices. The systems are supported by autonomous network monitoring technologies and intelligent solutions designed to manage network loads and maintain service stability during peak usage periods.

In addition to communications infrastructure, STC Group implemented advanced digital technologies to support crowd movement and traffic management during the pilgrimage season.

Its subsidiary, IoT Squared, deployed Internet of Things-based solutions, including a unified fleet management platform that enables operators to monitor vehicle movements in real time and issue proactive alerts to improve emergency response, traffic flow and operational efficiency in densely populated areas.

Through the integration of smart communications systems, flying network technologies and large-scale logistical support, STC Group reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a safe, reliable and enhanced digital experience for pilgrims during Hajj.
