The Research and Innovation Authority has launched the second edition of the Cooperation Program with the Sultan Qaboos Scientific Chairs.

This initiative is part of broader national efforts aimed at maximizing the benefits derived from the Sultan Qaboos Scientific Chairs and further enhancing international research cooperation.

The program aims to promote international research partnerships, enable researchers and innovators to gain global expertise and advanced skills, and support the production of high-quality research that contributes to addressing national challenges through scientific solutions.

It also seeks to strengthen the Sultanate of Oman’s position within the global scientific research and innovation ecosystem.

Sultan Qaboos Scientific Chairs, Professorships, and Fellowships are one of the pioneering initiatives that embody the civilizational role of the Sultanate of Oman in supporting human knowledge, promoting civilizational dialogue, and cultural rapprochement between the Arab world and various countries of the world.

The fields of these chairs have varied between the humanities, social sciences, applied sciences, and technology, reflecting the comprehensiveness of the Omani vision in supporting scientific research and knowledge.

Dr. Atika bint Yahya Al-Husseini from the Research and Innovation Programs Department at the Research and Innovation Authority stated that the launch of the second cycle of the program aligns with the Authority’s direction to expand the scope of research cooperation with the Sultan Qaboos Scientific Chairs.

Dr. Atika further added that it also aims to enhance the participation of researchers and academic and research institutions across various fields, in a way that supports national priorities, builds effective international scientific partnerships, and strengthens the research and innovation system in line with the objectives of the Oman Vision 2040.
