Oman Air and SalamAir have expanded their operations to Salalah for the Dhofar Autumn Season 2026, increasing flight capacity by up to 400 percent during the peak travel period to meet higher passenger demand.
Oman Air increased its daily seat capacity to Salalah from about 675 seats in April to more than 3,000 seats on peak-demand days. SalamAir raised its daily seat capacity from 495 seats to 1,505 seats over the same period.
During July, the two airlines added 192 flights and 35,639 seats on the Muscat–Salalah route, while also increasing domestic services to support seasonal travel demand.
Oman Air has retained its fixed fare of $140 (OMR54) for Omani citizens traveling between Muscat and Salalah, a policy introduced in 2023. During the autumn season, the airline will operate up to 23 daily flights on the route with multiple departure times.
SalamAir continues to operate its daily direct service between Sohar and Salalah, improving connectivity between North Al Batinah and Dhofar.
The airlines have also expanded international connectivity to Salalah. Oman Air recently launched direct flights from Dubai and introduced a seasonal weekly service from Bahrain in partnership with Discovery Travel. SalamAir has added seasonal direct services from Dammam and Baghdad.
The additional capacity supports tourism during the Dhofar Autumn Season by increasing visitor arrivals and benefiting the hospitality, retail, and local business sectors.
Con Korfiatis CEO – Oman Air
“The Dhofar Autumn Season is a key pillar of tourism in the Sultanate of Oman. As the national carrier, we have a responsibility to enhance air connectivity to Salalah while ensuring seamless travel opportunities for Omani citizens through subsidized, fixed fares. At the same time, we are expanding our international reach to attract more visitors to the Dhofar Governorate. These additional flights will also support local businesses, strengthen tourism activity, and reinforce Oman’s position as a global tourism destination.”
Adrian Hamilton-Mans, SalamAir Chief Executive Officer, emphasized that the airline’s largest seasonal program for Dhofar includes additional destinations, more flights, and increased seat capacity. He added that the airline will continue to offer its Residents’ Fare alongside promotional offers to support domestic tourism and improve travel accessibility.
The expansion supports the Sultanate’s broader tourism development plans under Oman Vision 2040 by strengthening air connectivity and increasing travel options during one of the country’s busiest tourism seasons.
