The Labor Fund (Tamkeen) of Bahrain, and M42, a global health company powered by artificial intelligence, advanced technology and genomics, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore strategic collaboration aimed at creating new opportunities for Bahraini talent and driving innovation in the Kingdom’s healthcare sector.
The partnership will focus on providing specialized training opportunities for doctors at Amana Healthcare Bahrain, establishing the Amana Academy as a simulation-based training center, and introducing digital healthcare initiatives across the public sector, including an AI-powered clinical assistant and a dedicated patient application.
The collaboration supports Tamkeen’s strategic priorities for 2026, which focus on strengthening sectors with the highest economic impact and enhancing the competitiveness of Bahraini talent.
It also aligns with the fund’s efforts to connect skills with labor market opportunities, promote private sector growth through innovative programs and financing solutions, and improve operational efficiency through enhanced governance and internal development.
Scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, Amana Academy will include an auditorium, multiple classrooms and a simulation wing to provide structured, hands-on medical training. During its initial phase, the academy will focus on developing the capabilities of Amana Healthcare Bahrain employees before expanding its programs to specialized and allied healthcare professionals across Bahrain.
The initiative builds on the existing collaboration between Tamkeen and M42 to strengthen Bahrain’s private healthcare sector through expanded training, employment and skills development opportunities for Bahraini nationals, while improving healthcare quality and accessibility through capacity building and advanced technologies.

Tamkeen, M42 to advance Bahrainization and medical training
Future programs include increasing Bahrainization at Amana Healthcare Bahrain, developing national healthcare talent, and introducing training and career progression programs for doctors, particularly general practitioners, alongside additional initiatives designed to create new employment opportunities and enhance specialized healthcare skills across the Kingdom.
The announcement builds on the longstanding collaboration between Tamkeen and M42 in Bahrain, including Tamkeen’s support for Amana Healthcare Bahrain, the Kingdom’s first long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation hospital developed through a strategic partnership between Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat) and M42. The facility has created more than 300 employment opportunities for Bahrainis in the healthcare sector while strengthening specialist healthcare services in the Kingdom.
