The UAE Ministry of Education has issued a remote learning guide for the third term, as schools across the UAE began classes today using online learning to ensure a safe, supportive environment that prioritizes student wellbeing and engagement.
The remote learning guide provides school administrations with clear objectives, principles, and regulatory frameworks to maintain continuity of learning.
It also outlines flexible schedules, suitable educational activities, and strengthened communication with parents to support a smooth transition.
Schools have activated the remote learning guide system immediately after receiving the ministry’s instructions, having already informed students and parents of start dates and approved timetables.
The remote learning guide model combines live virtual classes, independent learning tasks, offline activities, and recorded lessons, allowing students to revisit material while reducing prolonged screen time.
Schedules as per remote learning guide
Under the remote learning guide, the UAE ministry specified weekly lesson allocations for each educational stage:
- Kindergarten: 15 lessons per week, three daily from Monday to Friday, 30 minutes each.
- Cycle 1 (Grades 1-2): 23 lessons per week, five daily Monday to Thursday and three on Friday, 35 minutes each.
- Grades 3-4: 23 lessons per week, same daily structure, 40 minutes per lesson.
- Cycle 2: 27 lessons per week, six daily Monday to Thursday and three on Friday, 40 minutes each.
- Cycle 3: 28 lessons per week, six daily Monday to Thursday and four on Friday, 40 minutes each.
Support for students of determination remains a priority, with schools ensuring access to tailored educational support aligned with inclusive education principles. Schools are also monitoring students’ wellbeing, promoting physical and mental health, and encouraging active engagement throughout the learning process.
