Voltamp Energy’s ‘Watanha’ initiative has attracted 84 companies from Oman, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, and China to compete for investment opportunities related to the localization of strategic products and components in Oman’s energy sector.

The initiative supports the localization of strategic industries linked to the energy sector while increasing local added value through the development of domestic manufacturing capabilities.

As part of the initiative, Voltamp Energy organized an extensive workshop that brought together government entities, investment and industrial development institutions, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), technical partners, manufacturers, and investors.

The workshop focused on presenting investment opportunities associated with ten strategic products and components identified under the initiative.

According to the company, each investment opportunity attracted more than 15 qualified companies, indicating strong participation from local, regional, and international firms seeking to establish or expand manufacturing operations in Oman.

The event featured presentations from several government and sector organizations, including the Oman Investment Authority, the Distribution Code Review Committee, Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom), Oman Electricity Transmission Company, Nama Group, and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada).

Representatives from these organizations provided information on projected energy demand, regulatory requirements, accreditation mechanisms, available investment incentives, and industrial opportunities linked to the long-term development of Oman’s energy sector.

The workshop also included a panel discussion involving representatives from the Public Services Regulatory Authority, Invest in Oman, Madayn, and Riyada, alongside officials from Voltamp Energy.

The discussion provided participants with an opportunity to engage directly with regulators and industry stakeholders, seek clarification on sector requirements, and obtain information on participation processes related to localization projects.

Focus on strengthening local manufacturing

According to Voltamp Energy, the initiative seeks to facilitate cooperation among regulators, investors, energy companies, and manufacturers to support the development of local supply chains and industrial capabilities.

By bringing together key stakeholders from across the sector, the initiative improves coordination between public and private sector entities, supports more efficient implementation processes, and creates a supportive environment for local manufacturers and SMEs participating in the energy value chain.

The level of participation recorded during the workshop highlights increasing interest from businesses in manufacturing opportunities linked to Oman’s energy sector.

It also reflects the role of localization initiatives in supporting industrial development and increasing local content across strategic sectors.
